My Story
During the pandemic, I became a dog walker for The Cinnamon Trust to get myself out and about – and to help those that couldn’t.
The Cinnamon Trust is the national charity that helps older people and the terminally ill stay together with their pets for as long as possible. As a volunteer, I walked people’s dogs, took their cats to the vets and fed their birds when they couldn’t. I saw first-hand how even a 20-minute walk would enrich a dog’s day. Owners would often be saddened that they could no longer walk their beloved companion as they knew how important a regular walk was.
One of these owners was called Doug and I walked his Springer Spaniel Molly for him whilst he was ill. When Doug sadly passed away, his widow made the very hard but brave decision to find another home for Molly.
From my very first meet and greet with Molly, it was love at first sight, an instant soul connection. I knew that her place was with me. So when I was asked if I would like to re-home Molly, I didn’t hesitate to say ‘yes’.
She was my best friend and soul dog who, more than anything, loved her walks with me. For almost five glorious and fun-filled years, we climbed hills, swam in lakes, walked through forests and watched sunsets together. Molly is the inspiration behind Mollycoddle Pet Care and I promise to care for your pet in the same way I cared for my Molly.
