My Story
Mollycoddle Pet Care was inspired by a very special dog called Molly.
During the pandemic, I became a dog walker for The Cinnamon Trust – to get myself out and about, and to help those who couldn’t.
The Cinnamon Trust is a national charity that supports older and terminally ill people, helping them stay with their pets for as long as possible. As a volunteer, I walked people’s dogs, took their cats to the vets, and fed their birds when they were unable to. I saw first-hand how even a 20-minute walk could enrich a dog’s day.
Many owners felt saddened that they could no longer walk their beloved companions themselves, knowing how important those daily walks were. One of those owners was Doug, and I walked his Springer Spaniel, Molly, while he was ill.
From the moment we met, it was love at first sight – I fell in love with her immediately, and we shared an instant soul connection.
When Doug sadly passed away, his widow made the incredibly difficult but brave decision to find Molly a new home. I knew straight away that her place was with me. So when I was asked if I would like to rehome her, I didn’t hesitate to say yes.
Molly quickly became a beloved member of the family and my constant companion. More than anything, she loved our walks together. For almost five glorious fun-filled years, we climbed hills, swam in lakes, wandered through forests, and watched sunsets together.
Molly and I continued supporting The Cinnamon Trust, fundraising and raising over £6,000 for the charity. The money helped fund a new kitchen at one of their sanctuaries, allowing them to care for even more animals in need.
Molly passed away in 2025, but her legacy lives on. A plaque now hangs on the sanctuary kitchen wall in her honour, recognising everything she did for her fellow canine friends.
Molly will always be the inspiration behind Mollycoddle Pet Care. I promise to care for your pets the same way I cared for my Molly – with kindness, patience and love.
